BioLEAP: A Brief History

Initially established as a humane product loan program and help hotline, BioLEAP has grown to better meet the needs of science teachers. Today, we supply grants that help teachers purchase animal dissection alternatives that are humane, reusable and effective. We also offer free supplemental learning materials.

BioLEAP: A Program of NAVS

The National Anti-Vivisection Society (NAVS) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to advancing science without harming animals. As a program of NAVS, BioLEAP brings the humane science mission to biology education, helping educators gain access to innovative teaching tools and materials that are ethical and more effective.

We Partner with Teachers Across the Nation

We currently work with teachers in 19 states representing schools from the elementary level to college. Educators across the country are receiving our grants, teaching our material, and helping develop new content to share the benefits of humane biology education with their students, colleagues, and administrators.

Supporting the Voices of Students & Parents

We help to empower students and parents to opt out of classroom dissections that conflict with their ethics or beliefs. Learn how to advocate for humane science education.

Expanding Access to Humane Biology Education

Our goal is to make sure that as many educators and students as possible benefit from humane education resources.
